In closing, we want to thank all of our friends and clients for the opportunities given us to provide professional services and thank those who supported us in our mission over the last 55 years.

In joint venture with HKS, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, for the last 30 years the firm has been responsible for the design of many significant hospitals representing 5.6 million square feet in design and 4.5 billion dollars in construction for the military (i.e., Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland; Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas; Institute of Surgical Research and Clinical Investigation, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas; Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Aurora, Colorado; and Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Alaska). HKS/Wingler & Sharp was recently awarded the design contract for two major DoD replacement hospital projects for military communities located at Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas and Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Allen’s architectural knowledge and experience with his God-given ability to work with people, (clients and employees) who found him to be a consistent, genuine, caring and honorable man combined with the attributes of leadership, dependability, toughness and directness enabled him to do well the job at hand. He never considered architecture as work but a challenge of a new problem to be solved daily.
